Meghan and Harry kicked off their royal tour of South Africa this morning and to no one’s surprise (no one who pays attention to such things, anyway), the Duchess made sure her fashion was thoughtful and appropriate.
Mayamiko is a sustainable fashion brand that uses ethically sourced fabrics from Malawi. This was not the time or place for her to be showing up in Givenchy or something, but even so, this is taking the message-fashion to a next level. This is taking a page from Michelle Obama’s book, actually. It’s unusual to see her in a print, not so unusual to see her eschewing color. She clearly chose for comfort and we wonder if this tour will display a more relaxed style for the traveling new mom on the job. Can’t say we love the wedges. They’re practical (and a go-to for her sister-in-law when literally walking on rocky ground), but they’re kind of heavy and focus-pulling.
Harry looks thrilled, but we sure wish that man would put a little effort in.
