Halle Berry put on her Terminator shades and her peeptoes and headed to the Today Show studios in a coordinated set that isn’t quite working for us, for some reason.

Okay, first: we tend not to love red-and-black prints. They look harsh to our eyes, and the fact that this one is so abstract makes it worse. It should go without saying that we hate the lace panels, but we’ll say it anyway. But if we had to pick the one item that’s bringing the whole look down, we’d have to say it’s the jacket. Coordinated sets can look mumsy, even when we’re talking a strapless McQueen dress. We can understand wanting coverage for a morning talk show, but we feel like a little black jacket would work better here. We don’t like peeptoes, but this is such a classic style and design that we just can’t get mad at them. Keep the dress and the shoes, switch out the shades for something with a little more flair to them, and switch the jacket for cropped black denim.
