Queen Máxima put on her pants and her platforms and headed out to the presentation of the King Willem I Awards, which are business prizes awarded biannually by the King Willem I Foundation. Not a theme-dresser apparently, she opted not to come in a businessy styles.

We are delighted that she chose a fire engine red Valentino jumpsuit for this occasion, because it couldn’t be further away from what you’d expect a queen to wear to an event like this. You just know Princess Cathy would’ve been in pinstripes and a necktie. We wish we could say we love how it looks on her, but we don’t actually like the design all that much. That scarf looks dumb. It’s fun that she’s sporting platforms but to no one’s surprise, the reds don’t match. We also don’t think the red clutch was a good idea. And once again, she needs a queenly blowout or an up do or pony tail to keep it all in place.
