Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander headed to Venice to for the inauguration of the Netherland Pavillion at the Venice Biennale.

It’s kind of cute how often they do engagements together and how good they are at making it all seem enjoyable. We’re going to continue to take credit for the King’s sudden embrace of moisturizer and hair product. AttaKing. Keep it up. We also like the pink tie, which is a nicely whimsical little touch for a king. As for her, the look feels insanely dated to our eyes. It’s not terrible, but it’s got a church clothes quality to it that doesn’t feel very regal. We’re just not crazy about the proportions, the pleats, or the print of the skirt, and the pearls take it all somewhere mumsy. The hat is the only piece we like. Those plastic shoes are horrifying.
