The duchess stuck to her beloved slouchy neutrals, sporting a relatively affordable (and already sold out) piece from designer Heidi Merrick, which Sussex fans have excitedly pointed out is called the “Ginger” dress. While we wouldn’t put it past her to pick items with Swiftian Easter Egg meanings behind them, we suspect it’s a coincidence. For one, “ginger” is largely considered a slur in the UK and for another, it’s just more likely she picked this dress because it so clearly fits within the very narrow style mode she’s granted herself. But who knows? Maybe it really is a cheeky reference. It’s a fine dress that checks off all her boxes. Silk doesn’t really hold up well for daytime sporting events, so it wound up looking pretty wrinkled in pictures, but they really do look spectacular here:
