On the one hand, we have to appreciate Demi Moore serving on the Cannes jury while ensuring that she dominates every red carpet at the festival with her overwhelming star power. It is catnip to such as we, especially when there’s an announced dearth of American representation at the festival this year. On the other hand, we fear every time we cover her this week it’s gonna be all about her hair.
The gown is fine. It’s neither our favorite color nor our favorite style, but it’s dramatically photogenic and we can’t claim she looks bad in it. The sheerness is relatively demure and it has a floaty, undersea sort of feel to it, which makes the wet hair work against it, we think. Instead of looking floaty and ethereal, she looks waterlogged. That’s the girl from The Ring, crawling out of the TV. Just cut it, Demi. Give it some lift and some highlights. It’ll be great for you, we promise. In related styling news, we dislike the matchy pumps, but the jewelry is gorgeous.
