Curly girl Gillian Anderson joined her sleekly bobbed co-star Hannah Einbinder for the Cannes Film Festival photo call for their film Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, for which we are already seated based on the title alone.
GILLIAN ANDERSON IN MIU MIU

After three full decades of her working sleek hair, it’s genuinely unsettling to see her with a head of hair pasta. It’s looking a little frizzy to our eyes, but that’s always how these re-trends go. Sheer black tights come back in style and suddenly everyone’s pairing them with the wrong outfits. Belts come back in style and people are wearing goofy ones or disproportionate ones or gimmicky ones. It always takes a second for a re-trend to settle down. Still, we love it. Pin-straight hair has been the norm for as long as we’ve been blogging and it’s long past time for everyone to get over their 1980s comparisons. Curly hair is good. Embrace your curls. In related news, we hate the dress, largely because it’s the same color as her hair, and the dark sandals look odd with it.
HANNAH EINBINDER IN ALAÏA

We tend to get cranky about tricky skirts, but this is a very cute, quietly chic look. Those thong wedges are kind of a cool design, but we can’t imagine how painful they must be.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
After years of slapdash sequels, the Camp Miasma franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection. But when she visits the original’s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.
