Tessa Thompson in Balenciaga at the IS GOD IS New York Premiere: IN or OUT?

So right after we got done complaining about Is God Is star Janelle Monae showing up to the premiere in a look so dark it became incomprehensible, the pictures of Is God Is producer Tessa Thompson wearing something equally as obscure at the same event landed in our laps. We were only annoyed with Janelle because we could tell we would have hated her silly frock if we could see it better, but we’re much more disappointed with Tessa because from what we can tell, we kinda like her outfit.

But we figure some of y’all are going to have things to say about it, so we’re putting it up to a vote. You are free to take away points if you can’t really see the whole look, since dressing to be seen is entirely the point of these events. Anyway, while we’re tired of sheers and opera gloves, we kind of love the combination with a pair of smart black pants. To be fair, we’d have liked a top that looked more… constructed than that, but the whole look has a sexy-weird-kickass vibe that seems perfect for her. That’s our take. Let’s hear yours:
