The Consul Restaurant – Bangkok, Thailand
It’s WEDNESDAY and we’re heading into DAY THREE of our Met Gala coverage, but don’t worry, kittens. We managed to work in a few non-gown posts for today’s content roster. A regular PSO podcast probably isn’t happening this week because of the backlog of red carpetry, but we’ll be dropping a fairly chatty Bitter Kittens Movie Club podcast at the end of the week for Wings of Desire, so you won’t be entirely bereft of our cartoon voices this week. You can stop your crying. There, there.
‘The White Lotus’ Crashes Cannes: Inside Season 4’s Storyline, Helena Bonham Carter’s Exit and a $120 Million Production
In Cannes, two rival film teams descend upon the Cannes Film Festival with movies in competition and something to prove. One camps out at a flashy, palatial hotel on the Croisette, while the other is ensconced in a luxurious hilltop hideaway.
That’s the premise of Season 4 of Mike White’s hit anthology series “The White Lotus,” which will deliver a satire on the film industry through its story of American stars coming to the French Riviera — and once again implicating the titular hotel chain.
Sting Still Says His Kids Won’t Inherit His Fortune: They’re ‘Blessed with This Extraordinary Work Ethic’
The singer said telling his six children they do not have to work is ‘a form of abuse that I hope I’m never guilty of’
Sting is still supporting his kids, but without giving them unlimited funds.
The singer, 74, laughed when CBS News Sunday Morning asked if he still plans on not leaving his fortune to his children. He then said he always intended for them to find their own way in the world.
Sting, whose real name is Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, explained to journalist Mark Phillips that he felt that telling children they “don’t have to work” is “a form of abuse that I hope I’m never guilty of.”
Napoleon jackets are the unexpected fashion hit for spring and summer – here’s how to style them
After making an unexpected comeback last winter, this Y2K icon is back as the perfect layering piece for those chillier days.
It was Jenna Ortega’s military-inspired vest at Jonathan Anderson’s catwalk debut for Dior last year that made it official – Napoleon jackets are the latest piece to re-emerge from our Y2K memories as a trend that is here to stay. But even if your budget prohibits a piece of Dior, there are still many ways to incorporate this piece into your wardrobe.
Also known as a hussar jacket or a pelisse, this piece of outerwear has historic connotations that are quite problematic. But instead of trying to reference the colonial commanders of the 18th and 19th centuries, we’re looking back to 2000s style icons like Kate Moss and Sienna Miller as the originators of the trend.
An open letter to King Charles III – from a Jeffrey Epstein survivor
Following the King’s state visit to the US last week, Rina Oh asks why the monarch didn’t meet with her and fellow Epstein survivors.
Your Majesty,
We’ve both had a very busy week. While you enjoyed the pageantry of your American state visit, red carpets, garden parties, and carefully staged moments of compassion, I stood outside the White House with a chair reserved for you – waiting. Not as a spectacle. Not as a stunt. But as a survivor asking to be seen.
I prepared that moment with care. I studied the traditions you value – Darjeeling tea, cucumber sandwiches, the details that matter in your world. In mine, what matters is this: You didn’t show up.
64 unforgettable ’90s movies for the perfect night in
For a hearty dose of nostalgia.
’90s movies undoubtedly give us so much nostalgia. I mean, we have watched the likes of Home Alone, Jurassic Park, The Silence of the Lambs and Matilda time and time again and have never tired of them.
Also, we will never – and we mean never – not find 10 Things I Hate About You one of the funniest rom-coms, we’ll never not cry at tear-jerker Titanic – even though we know Jack’s definitely not coming back – and who wouldn’t want Hugh Grant in Four Weddings and a Funeral on a big screen? Then there are the film titles that have become phrases in our daily vocabularies without us realising, from Sliding Doors to Groundhog Day – talk about iconic.
We also can’t help but point out the faces that made the nineties impossibly iconic, such as the Olsen twins in flicks such as It Takes Two.
Forget peach nails – this pastel shade is spring’s chic alternative
Millennials, we are so back.
Pastels for spring? Hardly groundbreaking. But one surprising shade is currently exploding all over TikTok and it’s replacing seasonal peach nails and milky manis. Enter ‘millennial mint’ nails, spring’s freshest new trend.
It’s no secret that Disney+’s nine-part series Love Story has sparked a ‘90s fashion and beauty resurgence – from slip skirts to brown eyeliner and matte skin. Now you can match your manicure to your nostalgia, too. Or perhaps our obsession with matcha has gone beyond the coffee shop to our fingertips. Fashion designer Marc Jacobs has even co-signed the fresh shade with a “crystal-clear mint manicure” – a glass nail with crystal appliqués – on the 2026 runway.
From Molded Torsos to Corseted Curves, the State of the Body at The Met
The “Costume Art” exhibit at The Met’s Costume Institute is all about how fashion meets the human body over centuries. But what does it say about our relationship with our bodies today?
Before the press, or Met Gala 2026 attendees, or the general public were allowed to see “Costume Art,” the latest exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, journalists were treated to some body talk. Every year on the morning of the Costume Institute Benefit, there is a press conference, typically with remarks from CEO Max Hollein and co-chair Anna Wintour. Yesterday, the list of speakers included one of this year’s honorary chairs, Lauren Sánchez Bezos, who was wearing vintage John Galliano Spring 1995 tailored to every curve of her body. When it was time for co-chair and tennis star Venus Williams to speak, she turned to Sánchez Bezos. “I wish that dress was in my size,” she said, adding, “I’m just a little bit bigger than you.” And so the body talk began.
The ‘cup cut’ is topping 2026 hair trends
The tailored chop beloved by cool-girls.
If there’s one chop the cool-girls have collectively decided is headlining 2026 hair trends, it’s got to be the Cup Cut. Blending chin and collarbone length layers with the swishy feel of a fresh blowdry, multiplied by the bounce and personality of a bob, it’s as if a bunch of our favourite haircuts had a very trendy baby.
Already we’ve seen Kaia Gerber, Camila Morrone, Hailey Bieber and Laura Harrier embrace the style, alongside street style inspo from Josefine Vogt and Tova Elneskog, so we got in touch with top hair stylists to get the inside scoop.
The 2026 Tony Nominations Have Been Announced! See Them All Here
The 79th Tony Awards are set to take place on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Radio City Music Hall.
The recording artist and performer Pink has been tapped to host this year’s telecast. “It is the honor of an entire lifetime to host a night celebrating the literal hardest working people in showbiz,” she said in a statement. “Broadway has shaped my life and how I put my own shows together – it is a community that is supportive, and inclusive, and full of talent and love. These people give magic every single day, and I cannot wait to celebrate them with the entire world.”
On Tuesday, May 5, Uzo Aduba and Darren Criss convened to announce this year’s Tony nominees.
Luscious, Luxurious Long Hair Is Back For Summer 2026: 7 Styles To Wear Now
The likes of Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Kate Moss proved that dramatic lengths and flowing tresses are in.
It’s no secret that the bob – in all its variations – has long reigned supreme in the celebrity hair sphere. This year alone has given us Lily Collins’ signature sleek crop, Hailey Bieber’s tousled boho style and Pamela Anderson’s softly feathered bombshell bob for proof, to name a few.
Whether it shows signs of stopping is up for debate, though the 2026 Met Gala makes a strong case that it is. Long, flowing tresses took centre stage at last night’s ‘Costume Art’ themed exhibition, held at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Both on the red carpet and at the afterparty, the likes of Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Kate Moss, Suki Waterhouse and Kylie Jenner embraced the revival of long hair, including elbow-grazing cuts and flowing XXL lengths.
Blurred Lips Are the Prettiest Spring Makeup Trend at the 2026 Met Gala
So soft and dreamy
There were a lot of trends on the 2026 Met Gala red carpet worth discussing, but the one we can’t stop thinking about most of all? Blurred lips. They’re a soft, diffused take on traditional lipstick that feels both effortless and intentional. Makeup artist Nina Park inspired the trend, which blurs the semimatte lip to give it a romantic, just-kissed look.
On this first Monday of May, attendees embraced both bright and dark colors and plenty of drama to fit this year’s ]Fashion Is Art dress code. But even though the outfits varied, the appearance of blurred lips remained a constant. And no matter what the stars were wearing, their blurred lipstick brought a sense of softness to their look.
Andy Warhol’s Life in 732 Polaroids
Andy Warhol documented everything, just not always with the intention of showing the world. With Andy Warhol: Family Album, an exhibition of 732 Polaroids shot across 1972 and 1973, the Whitney Museum of American Art makes the case that even the artist’s most offhand moments were all a part of his master project. Drawn from one of six Holson albums Warhol assembled as a private archive, the show pulls back the velvet rope on a side of the artist that rarely gets airtime: His dog Archie, his Montauk home, his visits to Europe, and the friends who travelled with him along the way. It’s easy to forget that photography wasn’t a hobby for Warhol, but rather the foundation of his practice. He carried a camera with him everywhere, and by the early ’70s the Polaroid had become his tool of choice, feeding directly into the silkscreen portraits that cemented him in art history. The photos are at once gloriously glamorous and almost mundanely domestic–a true reflection of Warhol’s world. The show is currently on view through October 19 on the seventh floor at the Whitney.
Cigarette Jeans Are the Chic Upgrade to Skinny Jeans You’ve Been Waiting For
Would you believe me if I told you that cigarette jeans are the best of two classic jean styles in one chic package? It’s true. Imagine a hybrid between mom jeans and skinny jeans, the perfect flattering combo to project an impeccable style.
Cigarette jeans first became popular in the 1980s as an alternative to the wide-leg designs of the 1970s. As the name suggests, they are characterized mainly by their slightly slim fit, which hugs the legs to create a cigarette-like silhouette.
How to Break the Habit of Piling Clothes and Bags on Furniture
Your chair is not a closet.
We all know “that chair.” It might be located near the entryway, in your bedroom, or sitting tall at the kitchen island. But wherever it may be physically located, it’s where all your family’s jackets, purses, and backpacks get dumped whenever someone returns home. “If things are piling up, it usually means one of two things,” says professional organizer Kelsey Nodgaard. “The item doesn’t have a home, or the storage is too high-friction.”
The appropriate home for your jacket or purse may be out of the way, or it’s so overstuffed that you’ve given up on using it. “The bottom line is that if something keeps ending up in the same spot, it’s not random,” says Jennifer Q. Williams, president of Saint Louis Closet Co. “It just means it needs a better home.”
This U.S. Town Was Just Named One of the Best Places on Earth to See Wildflowers Bloom
Crested Butte ranks among the top global destinations for vibrant blooms, from alpine sunflowers to elephant heads.
Is it truly spring if you haven’t yet made time to stop and smell the roses (or, perhaps, the early-blooming daffodils) at least once? If you’re looking for a little inspiration to kick off the season properly, you’re in luck: online casino Spinblitz just unveiled its new global ranking of the best flower-filled destinations on Earth.
To create its list, the team analyzed a number of factors, including “flower vibrancy, popularity, reviews, and picture-worthiness” for a whole slew of attractions and areas. They then assigned each place an overall score and compiled the results in a report shared via email with Travel + Leisure.
