Style File: Aubrey Plaza Promotes Her New Book in New York

Aubrey Plaza is out on the streets of New York promoting her new book Luna and the Witch Throw a Halloween Party, which honestly sounds like a perfect fit for her. While we imagine there would have been considerable temptation to dress in witchy, gothy styles, it would probably have come off a little gimmicky. Instead, she’s dressing autumnally.

This is a cute, classic “Fall in the city” sort of look, but we think the proportions are slightly off. We have no problem with micro-minis, but they do tend to look a little odd paired with a jacket that’s longer. This would be perfect if the jacket were cropped or the skirt had a couple more inches on it.

That’s a gorgeous suit, but we’ll never understand or accept short-sleeved jackets. They always look stupid to us, but they look especially dumb paired with a long-sleeved shirt. In other nitpicky news, we’re not rigid about matching your accessories, but we do think it odd to choose black ones for an all-brown outfit.
