Meryl Streep stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to do a little victory lap after The Devil Wears Prada 2 had a fantastic opening weekend. She opted to wear The Uniform.

We’ve noted several times (including once in French) that the three main actresses of The Devil Wears Prada 2 have been sticking pretty close to a logo-branded dress code in which all three routinely wear the film logo’s color of black, red and white. But the other thing they appear to have agreed upon was to show up for talk shows in sharp black suits. Emily Blunt sported a pin-stripe and Anne Hathaway sported a plainer version, but as theme-dressing tactics go, we like that it was apparently decided to alternate the lead actresses’ looks between high fashionista style and much more businesslike looks, which is actually of a piece with the sequel’s surprising commitment to unpacking the business of fashion media this time. Anyway, Meryl looks great, which is no surprise. We’ve been saying throughout this tour that she does well with classic styles.
