Wacky Maxima has done it again! And by that we mean she stepped out in oddly accessorized, overly matchy outfits. Let’s assess.

Yeah, we’re just gonna rip the Band-aid off here: this is hideous. That yellow is not an attractive color — and she practically wrapped herself in it. There’s nothing nice about the dress. Aside from the unattractive color and ombre effect, it’s also poorly constructed and flimsy-looking. We don’t think there’s anything she could have done to style this dress in a more appealing way, but that cardigan and those awful shoes definitely make the whole situation worse. She has an issue with her hair getting a bit messy when she wears it down for day events, which is why she shouldn’t wear it down.

We’ve gone on record as not being particularly fond of the overly elaborate Treacy hats and fascinators favored by Euro royals. We’ll take that further and say that she looks pretty dumb here. Either the hat slipped down while she was wearing it…

… or she made a later adjustment. Either way, it looks a lot better on top of her head. The dress is… just okay. To be honest, it doesn’t look very expensive and the design is clearly not right for wearing a heavy brooch.
