Emily Blunt, Colman Domingo, Josh O’Connor and Wyatt Russell got themselves all gussied up in order to pose in front of the Eiffel Tower like a quartet of tourists for the first Disclosure Day photo call.

It would appear that no one plans on slacking off for this promo tour. She’s fresh off The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Josh and Colman are two of the most adventurous actors in terms of their public style. This might turn out to be an unusually fashionable Spielberg junket. Let’s assess.

But you shouldn’t confuse “not slacking off” with good style, unfortunately. We’re glad that they’re all putting the work in, but unfortunately, Miss Emily’s work tends to lead her to things like a skirt made entirely out of fake pearls. There’s an initial wow factor with a design like this, but it immediately morphs into questions about how impractical it must be to wear and sit in. Putting aside questions of practicality, which are non-starters for a photo call, it’s simply an awkward, somewhat silly looking design. She looks great despite it.

This is not a criticism, but we feel like we’ve seen him wear this exact outfit at least a dozen times. It looks great on him and no one else is wearing it, so we don’t blame him for returning to it. He remains one of the few celebrity men who can pull off the trend for cravats and other forms of non-neckties.

On the one hand, this all looks great on him and he couldn’t be more perfectly suited to it. On the other hand, it’s giving Matt Smith promoting Doctor Who circa 2010. It’s very much in that hipster nerd mode that was popular a decade-plus back, so we can’t say any of this feels fresh, but he’s working the hell out of it. The watch placement is very dumb.

We realize that brown is trendy right now, but we’d like all of this much more if it were in almost any other color. The skiers are cute, but they’re kind of distracting considering they have nothing to do with the film. Then again, we should be commending him for not engaging in theme-dressing.
