Princess Cathy came to the 80th anniversary concert in remembrance of VE Day in a look we’d call perfectly prim, pretty and princessy. If nothing else, the lady knows exactly what people want to see from her.
It’s not at all fresh and it’s got about as much edge as a wooden spoon, but of course that’s entirely the point. Smartly, she stands out without resorting to a focus-pulling color, which lends the look a sense of respect and decorum. She wore the pearls, from jewelry designer Susan Caplan, to the Holocaust Memorial concert earlier in the year, further promoting that sense of respect for the occasion. We don’t love the pearls with this outfit, but we can understand why she’d choose them. Can’t stand the hair bow AT ALL. We’re not usually fans of tricky, layered hems (or lace, for that matter), but this one is kind of intriguing and lends the entire look its only moment of interest.
