Princess Cathy Visits Royal Surrey County Hospital

Posted on October 05, 2022

Catherine, Princess of Wales visited the Royal Surrey County Hospital’s maternity unit in Guildford today to hear about the holistic support it provides to pregnant people and new mothers. She chose the occasion to unveil her shocking new style turn as a full-fledged princess:

It’s yellow. It’s pleated. There’s some unusual seaming and a potentially interesting collar. Everyone calm down. We know it’s a lot to take in. We joke because… well, because we feel like it, but our point is that these things are slightly unusual for the Princess’s style. Not unheard of, mind you; just a little unexpected. We don’t think it really means anything, although we suspect a lot of royal watchers are keen to proclaim some sort of notable shift in her approach now that she’s one step closer to the throne. But the thing is, her approach since her wedding has always been a long game. She’s been pointed toward that crown for over a decade now and she’s worked pretty hard to maintain a consistent style that straddles royal and working mom personae. So we don’t think it’s likely we’re going to see much change in the Princess of Wales’ style going forward. This is just a notably cute look with some vaguely interesting details; like 99% of her public daywear. It’s hard to confirm, but we think her bag and shoes are a midnight blue, in which case we approve.
