The Color Purple star Taraji P. Henson hit the red carpet at the Time100 Gala looking like a winner — from the waist up. Prepare ye the way of the scrolldown, for it will not be to thy liking.

That color looks amazing on her – so much so that we don’t even mind the matching eyeshadow. Had the skirt ended at the knees or continued uninterrupted to the floor, we would be giving finger snaps of approval in response. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen one of these interrupted skirts coming from the House of Browne. Lizzo wore one to the Met Gala but the outfit surrounding it was so exuberant that the skirt gap didn’t matter as much. Here, it more obviously looks like the ruin of a perfectly fine outfit.
