On the one hand, we’re not thrilled that so many stars showed up to serve jaw-dropping looks at the D&G alta moda show. On the other hand, we’re thrilled that so many stars showed up to serve jaw-dropping looks. We’re torn, darlings. But then we look at pictures of Miss Lupita delivering the goods and we just can’t stay mad.

We’ve said it before but it bears repeating: one of the reasons Dolce & Gabbana remain so popular among the celebrity set is because they routinely hand them exactly the kind of eye-popping, headline-making looks they want in order to promote themselves. They may have a problematic public relations history, but they know how to make celebrities look memorable. She’s working the hell out of this dress, but we don’t actually love the combination of a tile motif with a fruit-and-flowers motif. It comes off way too “kitchen decor” for us. Love the hair, but we don’t think the lip color was right for this outfit.

We don’t think D&G’s style is necessarily the best fit for her, but anything that makes her look like a goddess or a queen is a step in the right directio. We again don’t love the print or the embellishments, but the shape is fun, the color story looks great on her, and we love the head piece.
