The stars came out to pay tribute to the people who make them look great for a living – not their stylists, but the costume designers who put them in all those memorable outfits. And speaking of memorable outfits, we’re pleased to report that most of them did not disappoint.

We love him for treating this like he would an Oscars or BAFTAs red carpet – full formal nominee style. He looks great.

Ditto. It’s a simple gown that looks fantastic on her thanks to some killer makeup and a cute little light butch haircut. She’s definitely giving fellow queer girl nominee Kristen Stewart a run for her money in terms of her awards track style. They’re both combining high style with little queer touches that make us happy gays.

This looks like the most stylish prom portrait ever. They all look great. That may be the most grownup and sophisticated dress Storm’s ever worn. We love the fantasy design of Coco’s dress, like a mermaid’s prom gown. The CDGAs is one event where we are likely to applaud more costumey touches like that. Jabari is making that blue velvet tux sing.

A goddess who knows how to pose. We will forever stan.

It’s a lot of look packed into a little dress. We don’t love it, but the drama’s on point for the evening.

We’re not entirely convinced all of these colors belong together, but it’s a fun, bright look overall. Those shoes are distracting with that hem length.

This is almost too formal for the occasion. It’s also not particularly fresh or of the moment. But like we said, it’s a night for costumes and she’s playing a mid-century ghost in her new series Shining Vale, so it feels like smart branding. It’s also a very pretty look, if a little too retro to by fashionable.
