We have to admit, in the light of day (two days later), we think we were too harsh in our initial assessment of this gown.

Looking at it now, we can see that it’s a gorgeous gown and she looks amazing in it. But everyone’s got their set of “I hate that in fashion” colors and for us, we think this Tiffany-adjacent blue is one of ours. And we initially sort of disregarded it because the style is so classic as to be generic and we think Hannah Waddingham got a much better version of this style. It’s just that MJ has such a great record wearing really dramatic looks in the classic Cher mode and this, while nice, doesn’t quite hit as fabulously as some of her other efforts.
