Charlize Theron in Dior at “The Addams Family” Los Angeles Premiere: IN or OUT?

Generally speaking, we don’t think of Miss Charlize as the type of star who cycles through a lot of style personae. She has largely stuck to a glamorous goddess/sex symbol way of public dressing for most of her career. But in recent years she’s dialed that stuff back a bit and started adopting a style of public dress that seems a bit more serious and a bit closer to her true personality. We of course fully support this, but we  never could have predicted that her preference to express herself would take this sort of turn.

And it’s throwing us off so much that were not actually sure if we like it or not. We like a lot of the individual elements here but when you put them all together, it comes on a bit strong and a bit off-model for her. Love the combination of skirt, top, and jewelry, but the shoes are too pointy and distracting and that rope belt is tragic. We can’t tell if the glove is a fashion choice or a therapeutic response to an injury so we’ll leave it alone

We would never suggest a lady not evolve her style or not try new things but this is just a bit too much of a swerve for our delicate constitutions. The good news is the final word on this look comes down to you.

But seriously, put her in a pair of slouchy black boots and burn that horrible monk’s robe sash.
