Let’s take a short break from all the VMAs attention-grabbing stuntery and take in some good, old-fashioned, mercenary-as-hell Hollywood promotional attention-grabbing stuntery. We’ve been following the making of this film all year, partially because of the costumes and largely because of the amazing cast. We had every reason to believe the promo tour was going to be stocked to the rafters with eye-popping style and so far, it looks like we were correct in that prediction. These ladies are going to make the Ocean’s 8 poledance look like a charity ball.
Absolutely no one is slacking off here. And we note with no small amount of amusement that this group did not do one thing to coordinate their looks. When you’re sharing the picture with Cardi B and J Lo, it’s every woman for herself. In a general sense, most of the group seems to have leaned in on the film’s aesthetic, offering up lots of color, texture and print, with a hint of deliberate tackiness. Keke’s dress is loud and fun; paired perfectly with the bright pink sandals. Cardi is werqing the shit out of that vintage JPG, making the curves sing for her and topping the look off with killer shades and hair. J Lo is a spy lady for some reason. Unforch, we’re going to have to single out Constance and Lili here. Step it up, ladies. Constance’s suit is too tight and looks a little cheap. Lili’s dress is kind of bland and poorly fitted. This is not how it’s done when Cardi and Jenny are in the room, girls.
This does look pretty fun.
