Rose Byrne and Kelli O’Hara were two bright and bold lady thespians at the opening night party for their play Fallen Angels.

With decades of complaining about the lack of color on most red carpets under our belts, we feel duty bound to support this. Do we have quibbles? What kind of question is that? Of course we do.

We’ll admit that we don’t actually like any of the colors these ladies are working, but like we said, we feel like we should be offering positive encouragement to color-shy stars, so we’ll put aside the overwhelmingly orange juicey color here and just note that we hate the white trim and straps. Why would you even add that to this design? The textile is pretty, even in that eye-searing color, but that wrap or shrug or coat thing just looks like she’s dragging around a massive swatch of it. Her makeup is kind of harsh but it may be her stage makeup so we’ll give that a pass.

Love the color-blocking and the general shape and style, but the color combo is a tough one to pull off and it doesn’t help that it’s pretty wrinkly near the bottom. But we always say that the judging rules are different for opening night parties because the people featured just got off work, as opposed to your typical movie premiere red carpet where they have hours to prepare.
