The fashion girlies are back at it. The Devil Wears Prada 2 stars Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep have hit the New York publicity rounds in very New York style. They’ve toned down some of the considerable wackiness of their overseas promotional ensembles and they wisely opted to dress like a couple of fashion editors.
ANNE HATHAWAY
This is extremely cute. The bag’s a little twee and we’re not a hundred percent on those pointy patent ballet flats, but she’s been working some seriously overwrought fashion lately and she’s likely to continue doing so, what with both this film and Mother Mary opening. We don’t blame her a bit for taking a more relaxed approach when she can get away with it, especially if the results are cutely photogenic.
MERYL STREEP
Madame is standing on business and she looks fantastic. We’re sorry to keep reiterating this point, but Meryl’s coolness regarding high fashion never made sense to us because she looks amazing in simple, classic looks that don’t actually require much of her. We’d have said to skip the flower, though.
