Meghan, Duchess of Sussex has taped an appearance as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia while the Sussexes have been on their pseudo-royal Australian tour. The episode is set to air this Sunday, April 19. We just have one question and we feel we’re standing up for millions of people asking the same thing:

WHY?!? We remain deeply puzzled by the Sussexes career choices, all of which seem designed to get their critics even angrier at them, very few of which seem to have any benefit to the Sussexes themselves. But fine. It’s not like every guest judge is some sort of culinary master. She’s got a lifestyle show on Netflix which makes her qualified on some level, we suppose. We can’t roll our eyes enough at how she dressed for the occasion. While we wouldn’t expect her to dress like a reality TV show hostess, the fact remains that she’s a void of nearly shapeless black next to two much more traditionally telegenic dresses. It’s not a TV show ensemble at all, which is weird when you consider how her career started.
