Meghan and Harry continued their faux-royal tour of Australia and the duchess’s outfits got a little goofy. First, they took part in the Scar Tree Walk in Melbourne, Victoria, which highlights traditional and contemporary Aboriginal cultures and histories.

That’s… a little odd? We suppose if they’d been touring some child development program or children’s hospital, a “MAMA” t-shirt might make some sense, but it’s such an oddly distracting thing to wear. It’s a shirt put out by the organization Alliance of Moms, which was founded by a friend of Meghan’s and aids expectant mothers in the Los Angeles foster system. We suppose you could take a kind view and see this as a way of promoting her friend’s charity, but it feels like she’s yanking focus away from the point of this walk. This isn’t a bad look for heading to the farmer’s market on a Saturday, but it’s an exceedingly strange choice for an outdoor pseudo-royal engagement. She looks so bizarrely out of place standing there in a trench coat. Later, they headed to Swinburne University of Technology for a visit to Batyr, a mental health program.

Harry tucked his shitty shirt into his shitty pants for the occasion. He’s really not giving the impression that he wants to be doing this. As for her, it’s a pleasant surprise to see her in a shift with tights, but that is one drab-looking frock; boxy and shapeless, the color of mildew. It’s a slightly more stylish and put-together look than her usual, but it’s still pretty dreary and unphotogenic.
