Abbott Elementary star Quinta Brunson came to The Tonight Show in a dress that kind of defies description and we can’t tell if we like it or not.

How would you even describe the print here? It’s partly tropical and partly basket-weave. The tropical part is fun and the weave part is sort of serious, and we’re just not convinced that the two prints work well together. We think the combo might work if you removed the green parts and just left it a black-and white dress. Still, we don’t think the placement of the tropical print is all that flattering and the effect is so distracting in a setting like this that we don’t think it’s worth the trouble of trying to make it work. She looks great, but the dress is trying too hard.
