Upfronts week continued as Netflix’s current stable of stars came out to ply their wares to the critics. Let’s be uncharacteristically judgmental about it.

Jennifer Lopez (in Jean Paul Gaultier) and Brett Goldstein

His look is okay, although we think the pants are borderline schlubby. She looks ridiculously overwrought for this – or most other – occasions. It’s tacky and cheap-looking and she is the one celebrity in the most dire need of a total style rethink. J Lo, get a new team.

Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow (in Alex Perry)

We don’t love Brittany’s matchy shoes, but her dress is really nice. She tends to choose well more often than not. Malin is kind of the opposite. Those pieces are awkward together, the reds don’t match, and they look harsh on her. Keep the pants, get a better top.

Tina Fey and Will Forte

Mom and Dad came home from the law firm, had some quick cocktails, and headed to the parent-teacher conference.

Jonathan Daviss, Chase Stokes, Madison Bailey (in Etro) and Carlacia Grant

From the left: low-key but impeccable, a little too gangster (in the old school sense), kind of weird, but fun and eyecatching, and finally, also low-key but impeccable. Good job, everyone.

Millie Bobby Brown in Georges Hobeika

We think those corset bodices are so incredibly tired by now, but we like this from the waist up. The jacket is cute and takes the look in an unexpected direction. The skirt is horrible, however.

Zoe Kazan and Florence Pugh (in Simone Rocha)

We guess the East of Eden ladies decided to go with white for their theme-dressing. Zoe’s suit is kind of cute, but we don’t love the shape of the skirt or the choice of show. That jacket would look great with black pants and black sandals. We want to like Miss Flo’s gown, because it’s certainly dramatic as hell, but all of that white satin, not to mention that one bold graphic element, really does call for optimal lighting conditions, which a streamer upfront simply isn’t going to provide. Should’ve saved this one for the premiere. Even so, we dislike the shape of the shoulders and the color of the flower.
