We noted earlier that ever since she hooked up with producer Ryan Murphy as one of his muses, Naomi Watt’s style has gotten considerably better, which was more than evident when she stepped out in New York yesterday. There’s just one problem.

She’s playing Jackie Onassis in Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette and this is a clear and obvious bit of cosplay, which kind of annoys us. It’s a great look, and we love the idea of babushka scarves coming back in vogue, but we hate when stylists and stars blur the line between fashion (self-expression, image management) and costume design (fictional character, meant to embody themes and motifs in the story). Love the look, hate the thinking behind it.
