Why Miss Margaret Qualley, as we live and breathe. Look at you, all polished and perfect at the Oscars. Forgive us, dear, but it’s not a sight we’re used to seeing.
AT THE OSCARS IN CHANEL COUTURE
This is an almost shocking turn of events, if you know anything about her red carpet history. We like to think her mother Andie McDowell gave her a series of light slaps and said “Enough with the quirky Chanel dresses. You’re wasting your youth, dammit.” To be fair, we think there’s a happy medium to be found between her own sense of the goofy and this, which has skewed wildly mature. She doesn’t have to go completely Grande Dame just because she gave up the kooky frocks. But as much as we’d like to encourage her to express herself, we can’t deny that she never looked better. The hair is gorgeous.
AT THE VANITY FAIR OSCAR PARTY IN CHANEL
It’s essentially a dance costume, since she wore it onstage for her number. From that perspective, the somewhat loose fit of it makes sense. Our only issues with the design is that the straps are too thick. Our only issue with the styling is that we loathe Mary Janes and we don’t think they go with this style of dress at all.
