Darlings, are you DROWNING IN FLOWERS yet? We continue to find the highly romantic promo tour for It Ends With Us, a story about domestic violence, to be exceedingly odd.

You can dress like Barbie for your Barbie movie and Zendaya made it clear that you can take a film’s basic setting (the world of tennis) and devise a bunch of gimmicky outfits around that film, but there’s no good way to represent domestic violence as a visual theme AND sell tickets at the same time, so Blake and her team (which does not exist or only includes her husband) have devised this heavily floral take, since her character is a florist and has a flowery name.

It’s pretty dumb. But as we noted the other day, Blake dresses for attention and press. She doesn’t care if it’s dumb or if it looks chic. On that level, her poledancing choices work.

Having said that, this is easily the best ensemble she’s worn on this publicity tour. As per the usual, she overdoes it on the styling and/or makes somewhat goofy, borderline juvenile choices. This dress sure doesn’t need a marabou coat any more than it needs sparkly pink jewelry, but your girl just can’t help herself. The dress is pretty. Most of the jewelry needs to be ditched.

We feel like this is a little rebellion on her part, as in “Fine, I’ll wear flowers again, but they’re gonna be rendered in black jersey.” Its fairly chic and sophisticated look – at least in comparison to Blake’s. The slick hair looks great on her and we appreciate the low-key styling choices, although she could’ve borrowed a few pieces of jewelry from Blake.
