Emma Mackey, Charlotte Le Bon and Kristen Stewart did not make for a particularly unified style trio at the Cannes photo call for their film Full Phil — not that they had to, but you’d think they were all promoting an entirely different movie.
EMMA MACKEY IN LOUIS VUITTON
Emma is here promoting her action-thriller, in which she plays The Girl between two Large Adult Boys With Guns. The fit here is impressive and we find ourselves unable to argue against much here. The simplicity of the look plays well in the setting, although we don’t think the hair quite works with it.
CHARLOTTE LE BON IN DIOR
Charlotte is here promoting her romantic comedy, in which she is Quirky. We might — MIGHT – be convinced on that skirt without the train — or anything else in the outfit. The vest is an afterthought and what’s going on below the knees is silly and looks dumb.
KRISTEN STEWART IN CHANEL
Kristen Stewart is here to promote her Queer Punk Crime Thriller, where she plays The Charismatic Ringleader. Every bit of this is so extremely on brand for her that we’ll just nod and leave her to it. The design is interesting and we think it could lead to some interesting styling choices, but she always takes these things to the same place and we’re finding it a bit played out. She is who she is and if nothing else, she’s to be commended for sticking to a style no other celebrity woman is trying.
In reality, Full Phil is a French comedy where Kristen plays Woody Harrelson’s daughter and that’s kind of genius. It definitely doesn’t sound like the kind of film that calls for theme or even coordinated dressing. Despite all that, we don’t think they look all that bad as a trio, although Emma clearly comes off the best, with the least interesting look. Kinda love that she’s grinding her heel into Charlotte’s train. Ruin that thing, please.
