Saiorse Ronan returned to the red carpet at the Sundance Film Festival. She did not choose to wear the typical Sundance cold-weather ensemble. Instead, she sported the typical Saoirse Ronan look.

And by that we mean “goofy and not well-suited to her.” We were going to put this one up to an IN or OUT vote because it’s one of the few really dressy looks we’re going to show you today, but we thought that might be mean to her. To be fair, she got the color right – which is not something she always does – but by that we only mean that it matches her eyes. If she’d asked us, we’d be putting her in darker, richer blues than this, which washes her out. Still, the textile is kind of pretty. The design is not. That puffy collar is weird. There’s a point at which a designer has to accept that they can’t make this particular jumpsuit they’re working on look like a dress. Just give the girl a decent pair of pant legs and stop going for the illusion. Because you know what you get when you try too hard to make pants that look like a skirt? Ugly pants. And speaking of ugly, hello, shoes.
