George and Amal Clooney headed to the King’s Trust 50th Anniversary celebration in pretty high style. He sported his usual nice, unfussy suit and she broke out an archival McQueen gown for the occasion.

While we’ll never get excited seeing a man in a white dress shirt and navy blue suit on a red carpet (Why would we when we could walk into any courtroom in America and see the same thing?), we have to give ol’ George his propers here. The fit is superb — to the point that he can move around and even shove a hand into a pocket and never ruin the lines of the suit. We also appreciate the non-dainty shoes. Sorry, but we can only be as God made us — Gen Xers who like themselves a hefty footprint. Blame it on Doc Marten. As for her, we have no notes, because the look is flawless. Would we have advised gold accessories? Probably not, but we can’t consider them a mistake.
