Angela Bassett arrived at the Oscars looking every inch the queen that she is and despite leaving empty-handed a second time, that’s exactly how she left the Oscars as well. We won’t deny that we were feeling the disappointment that was etched on her face when somebody else’s name was called, but at least she looked sickeningly flawless the whole time.
We like to think she provided one of the few times that our sartorial predictions panned out. We said she loved exuberant shapes and bold colors, and we predicted that whatever she chose to wear for the night, it would be fun. This is the very best she’s looked all year, hands down. And we think it might be the most elegant offering from the House of Moschino that we’ve seen in years. The snake necklace is stunning and adds a fierceness to the soft chicness of the dress that reflects her own persona really well; elegant, but fierce. A queen, through and through.
