Congratulations to a daughter of Hollywood. Jamie Lee Curtis was shocked – or gave a very good acting performance to make it appear so – to win the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once. We think she’s probably one of those industry vets who has prioritized doing the work over the years and never really entertained ideas of winning awards for it. She has always come off as the opposite of starry-eyed, if only because all of this seems very fake and even mundane to someone born into it. As we noted in our look at her awards season style, this sort of no-nonsense attitude tends to come across in her style choices.

It is mildly hilarious to us that the biggest trend of the night was pale neutrals and whites in the same year that the Academy decided to dispense with the iconic red Oscars carpet for a champagne shade more appropriate for an insurance office or hotel room. We bet a ton of stylists were pissed when they found out. This is pretty enough and it’s very flattering, but regardless of the color of the carpet, we think she’d have been better off in a richer, brighter shade. The boning detail is terrible. Looks like someone left adhesive strips on it. The hair, makeup and jewelry are all fabulous, though.
