We must extend a hearty congratulations to Glass Onion star Kate Hudson. Not for winning any film or acting award, but because she has already reached frontrunner status for Ugliest Dress of the Year and we’re not even two weeks into 2023. Attagirl.
What’s so interesting here is that it’s such a simple dress that it’s impressive how much ugly has been packed into it with just a few touches. There are those who will say that the ruched, ruffled panels are not nearly as terrible an element as we are making them out to be and we’re sorry to have to inform you that those people are wrong. Also, that’s kind of a dreary pink, if such a thing exists. And finally, decorative scarves with dresses should be used sparingly. We’d say that one wasn’t needed here, but it’s not like it made the dress any worse.
