Prince Will and Princess Cathy Visit Northern Ireland

The Firm has been in full charm offensive mode as King Charles sends his minions senior royals all over the globe to aggressively court public opinion and re-affirm the viability of the monarchy. This week alone saw the King and Queen Consort in Dunfermline, Princess Anne taking the Staten Island Ferry, and Sophie Wessex in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Following their trip to Wales last week, the new Prince and Princess of Wales hopped on over to Northern Ireland this morning. We can’t really subscribe to the oft-repeated praise that the senior royals “work hard,” as we noted last week on Twitter when it was revealed that the new Prince of Wales never bothered to learn Welsh. Still, this has been quite the kickoff to the Charles Rex era and it’s clearly been all hands on deck. In related news, Cathy did some questionable color-matching.

It’s a pretty great look for her, but the ever so slight mismatch between the blouse and the coat is giving us eyelid twitches. We just wish they were a couple of shades further apart. Nitpicky? Why, yes. We don’t mind if we do.

It’s a pleasant surprise to see the Princess mixing drinks in front of a progressive Pride flag. It’s interesting to see how hard everyone’s working to court various demographics.
