This seems to be the day where the lady stars are serving up looks so flawless, they’re leaving us speechless. First, Thandiwe Newton stepped out in an outfit so flawlessly styled that we had no notes or quibbles. Now here’s Jennifer Hudson, whose recent promo looks have been somewhat uneven, strutting into the Colbert studios absolutely knowing with a certainty that she nailed this one:
This is fun, cute, sexy and Aretha-adjacent. It says “diva” without being too grandiose about it. Just grandiose enough, we’d say. She loves a bootie and we don’t always share that love with her, but these make the perfect pair to go with that dress. All this and it’s heat wave-appropriate. LOVE the hair and shades.
