Gugu Mbatha-Raw Promotes “Loki” in Paul & Joe

After seeing Dame Helen work one with style the other day and taking in Miss Gugu’s version here, we have to wonder if the lowly pink pantsuit is having a bit of a high fashion moment. We’d have thought this particular garment would have as much freshness to it as the average blue suit for men, but this is the second time we’ve seen one that feels very of-the-moment:

One thing’s for sure: this is like the fifth or sixth oversized scalloped collar we’ve seen lately so that particular element’s definitely on an upswing. As for the suit, we like the softness of the pink (trendy pinks of late have been either eye-searing or so subtle as to be nearly beige), the relaxed fit and the vest, which bumps up the formality of it just a little and plays well with the more traditionally feminine details like the collar. We really love the shoes and they make a nice call back to the collar, but (we fully admit we’re being super-nitpicky here) but our eyes twitch at the competing whites.
