We’re trying to be all cool about it, but it’s still really hard not to scream “RED CARPETS ARE BACK!!!!!” Then again, maybe we should just embrace the newness of it all, like newborn baby bloggers. We’ll have plenty of time to by cynical and bored, but for right now, it’s just a delight for us to see stars awkwardly standing in front of a backdrop with corporate logos all over it.

It’s a very cute, lightly chic look; not too showy and definitely not outrageous. The MTV Awards usually call for a bit of over-the-top fashion, but that’s not really her brand and besides, we can’t blame anyone for choosing something relatively simple and easy to wear for their first red carpet in a long time. We tend to be against black pumps in most red carpet settings, if only because they’re the least visually interesting shoe a gal could wear for a picture-taking sitch. But they feel like the exact right choice here. Love the satin cuffs. The makeup seems a little harsh, though. And we think a lighter hair color suits her better.
