Well DAMN, Bey. Was this just to shut us up?

Because we’re always the first two mouthy queens to say that Beyoncé isn’t really all that much of a fashionista when she’s offstage. Even her custom Schiaparelli dress for the main ceremony was fairly standard (borderline generic) in its design. But this?
This is the kind of high diva moment that inspired all those observations that she wasn’t a Fashion Girl. This is the kind of look we had in mind whenever we wrinkled our pert little noses at her latest style choice. Because while her style offstage has always been serviceable, it never felt like it truly embodied or captured the power of her public persona. Beyoncé shouldn’t be stepping out looking like any pop star. She should be stepping out looking like a cultural force that can’t be denied. She should be stepping out looking like a damn QUEEN.
Because that’s not a dress. That’s not a “look” or an outfit. That is a FLEX. More, please.
