We could not quite grasp why Regina King’s promo style took a sudden turn toward the cartoonish until we realized that, like Sarah Paulson and Yara Shahidi, she was repping the brand.

Miss Regina, as we noted in yesterday’s rundown of her current style choices, does tend to like things with a twist or a little fuss to them, but this takes “fuss” to whole new levels and we’re not convinced the style works for her at all. As always, the hair and makeup are great and we think we like that goofy turtleneck in orange way more than the white one Sarah Paulson was wearing (which looked like wound dressings, now that we think of it). That yellow “coat” or “cape” or whatever Prada wants to call it barely works in the rarefied world of the runway. It doesn’t work at all in the real world. She likes challenging garments, but she doesn’t look like she’s loving this one all that much. Then again, designing it so that it literally needs to be clutched to stay on does tend to make the wearer look less than enthused about wearing it.
