The Man I Love star Rami Malek has been sucking in his cheeks and making the rounds at the Cannes Film Festival while serving up some fairly chic menswear looks. Let’s check in on his efforts.
In The Row at the Kering Women in Motion Talk
This is very chic and nearly perfect. Clearly, the translucent quality of the pieces is deliberate, so we can live with the placket, seams and hems practically glowing, but we don’t think we can sign off on the visible pockets and tucked-in shirt. We love the way these pieces look on him, but we think the sheerness works against them. We also can’t say we’re loving the black belt with brown shoes. You don’t have to match them, but when you’re dressed in all white, the difference jumps out. Also: he’s way too orange.
In Prada at THE MAN I LOVE Photocall
Another look that works in an overall sense, but tends to look less fabulous the longer you take it in. These minimalist, largely colorless menswear styles are perfect for him, but the proportions here are weird and for some reason, the styling makes him look sloppy. Love the shades and the shoes.
