Style File: “The Sky is Pink” Star Priyanka Chopra in Max Mara, Markarian and Lia Cohen

Posted on October 09, 2019

Miss Priyanka has a new movie out, which normally explains why a lady star is stepping out in so many eye popping looks in one week, but this is kind of par for the course for her. She never misses an opportunity to dress up for the cameras. Unfortunately and inexplicably for someone who dresses up in high fashion as much as she does, she rarely ever seems to get it right. Cases in point:

Priyanka Chopra in Max Mara

Oof. Girl, no. We’re not inclined to love a turtleneck in any instance but that’s not even what bothers us the most here. It’s the matching top and skirt in different textiles. It’s causing furious eyelid twitches. We’re not super-crazy about the color to begin with but we don’t mind the skirt. It just needs something — anything — other than a tight matching turtleneck.

Priyanka Chopra in Markarian

We don’t mind the retro 1930s style here, but this fabric looks so flimsy and shiny that it renders the whole dress a little cheap-looking. The shoes are kind of cute but they’re a bit much with this dress. The last thing this look needed was more pink.

Is it us or are all her textile choices were really poor this time out? Hate the color, hate the shine, hate the fabric. She’s the color of a bathroom but her dress looks like upholstery fabric.
