Can we just? Take a moment?
Because we feel like this deserves a moment of reflection and appreciation.
Sure, it’s another satin dress, another yellow dress, and another dress with a big honkin’ bow on it – all things we’ve bitched and moaned about ad nauseam in the last several months as all three elements became late-summer/early fall trendy among the celebrity set. But damn, is she serving it or what? Such is the power of the J Lo. You can take a literal pile of our most-hated trends, throw it on her, and if she’s feeling it – or more likely, feeling herself – she somehow has the ability to make all the things we hate combine into something we think we might love. It’s all about the drama with her. If she can tap into that quality, she’s good to go.
All the more reason to hope she has a wonderful, productive and fulfilling awards season. The Governors Awards are usually where the folks on track solidify their standings and it looks like this diva has sent a loud-and-clear message of confidence.
