Sir.
SIR.
You did THAT. And we could not be more grateful for it.
In truth, we can’t say we love any of this on its own merits, but we absolutely love him for making the effort to do something different on the red carpet. He’s been going his own way style-wise for some time now, preferring a sort of Gaye/Pendergrass ’70s black male finery redux sort of thing. In a world where most male celebrities wind up idolizing the James Deans and Steve McQueens of entertainment history, it was always refreshing to see Donald work a particular look that only he seemed willing to try.
This, on the other hand, represents a big, modern step forward. Sure, it still has bits of ’70s disco flair to it, but the high-waisted pants and eye-searing color scheme certainly take it somewhere new and different.
We realize this look is hard to take and most folks probably aren’t going to applaud it (let alone attempt it for themselves), but we really do love this for being so wildly different while at the same time being so utterly perfect for him.
