We really like the Hilfiger x Zendaya collection and we look forward to seeing stars other than Zendaya wearing it on the red carpet, but of all the candidates to possibly werq the brand, we’re afraid Miss Laura ranks really low. Girl, this is not your brand.
To be fair, that skirt is spectacular and there’s not a reason in the world she shouldn’t make it the starting point for a great outfit. But that blouse is kind of horrifying and if there’s anyone who can make the overdesigned thing work, it’s not going to be one Miss Laura Dern, because fussy is not in her wheelhouse. They tried to style it to make the sheer blouse a bit more demure, but their solutions really didn’t work. She’d have been better off asking them to line it, but she’d have been even better off just looking for a different top to wear. It’s a shame red carpet styling is so brand-based. Stylists are more and more reluctant to break up runway looks or mix and match from different brands.
Also, those sandals look awful with such a heavy skirt.
