Now that the gushing and crow-eating regarding her amazing performance is out of the way, we can get back to judging her style choices. But this time, it will all be said with love and concern. Because Renee? We love you and we’re concerned.

Miss Woman, it seems fairly likely from where we’re sitting that you are going to be garnering some awards recognition in the coming months. Perhaps because it’s been a while since you’ve ridden that particular carousel you don’t know how formalized and heightened the Oscar poledance has become. But we doubt that’s it because you’re not naive and you’ve been at this game a long time. No, we figure you have no interest in going crazy with your promotional style and you’ll be all about expressing yourself in a way that makes you comfortable or that you simply prefer for no articulated reasons. Fine. But we aren’t really feeling this look at all. Since it would be easy to discount our opinions as those of a couple of annoying bitches, we’re putting this one up to a vote (so all of you can be the annoying bitches). We don’t think this dress is horrible, but we don’t love it for her and we think she needs to get over her de la Renta/Herrera addiction and move into a fresher direction. But the final word on the matter (until the next Zellweger post) is up to you.
