We don’t want to alarm anyone, but Miss Jennifer, famously not a smiler on most red carpets, is smiling. This is disconcerting to us, not least because we fell in love from afar with her non-smiling, judgey sort of affect and wanted to pretend that we could be best friends with her and her equally as snooty husband Paul Bettany, envisioning sojourns and social gatherings where we all sat around enjoying the freedom not to smile and the desire to openly judge our lessers. Alas, the dream has died with a smile. We console ourselves with one idea.
She’s smiling to distract you from how hideously ugly her dress is. Attagirl. Throwing them off with classic misdirection. We were so upset, we barely even noticed this abomination of a frock. When you’re finished faux-smiling, Jennifer dear, burn it.
