Meryl Streep Promotes THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2 in McQueen

These pictures of The Devil Wears Prada 2 star Meryl Streep on the Tokyo leg of the endless press junket just dropped into our laps and we figured we’d give the lady one more spotlight post, especially since she’s not dressing in the film’s branding colors, but she is nodding toward one of the original’s most iconic moments.

In other words, she’s wearing cerulean, a color that no one can say out loud without someone referencing Meryl. We know this isn’t her thing, but she could consider making it her signature color, both because of the larger cultural implications but also because it looks fantastic on her. In fact, it looks so good on her that we’re not even going to complain about the matching blouse. Love the silver pumps. The Runway clutch is something she’s been sporting throughout the tour and while we’ll always be a bit spicy about that kind of theme-dressing, we can’t get mad at it. What’s been great about her on this tour is that she really comes off like she’s enjoying herself. Granted, she’s the greatest actress of her generation, so that may not be an entirely accurate take on her perspective, but she sure is selling the idea. Once again, we hope she picks up a newfound love of dressing well for future work. Love the frames.
